Growing up, every kid I knew had some tie to basketball, whether it was playing for school, after school, or just hanging out by the court. For many brown kids growing up, it became a third space, a home away from home. And this inspired the question: “What if ‘your culture’ wasn’t something you left at home, but something you balled with?”.
